Join an exciting opportunity to enter an on-going weekly therapy group. We offer a Men’s Group Therapy on Tuesdays from 7:45 to 9:15 p.m., and a Co-Ed Group Therapy on Wednesdays from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. Led by an expert therapist, you will learn with and from other people, and better understand your own patterns that may be holding you back from the life you want.
In group, you can learn how to develop and maintain fulfilling relationships while breaking your cycle of self-defeating behaviors. Many people in group therapy may be experiencing or grappling with some of the same issues you are---issues or frustrations that can be beneficial to share with others. Those issues may include symptoms of anxiety, depression, relationship distress, job and career frustrations, ADHD, emotional eating, and more.
One aim of Life at Your Best group therapy may be to help you socialize better---and it can accomplish this---but that is not necessarily the main goal. The Life at Your Best group therapy can help you identify and deal with your emotional blocks and limitations, enabling you to relate better to others, to gain more inner comfort, and to realize your own potential.
Each week in group session, you identify unhealthy patterns you may be repeating, and practice healthier alternatives within the safety that group therapy provides to explore new, healthier patterns.
How Group Therapy in NYC at the Life at Your Best Plan Works
A group consists of 6 to 10 members meeting each week who have things in common and who can be helpful partners for each others' growth. The therapist guides the discussion, providing a productive examination of the issues or concerns affecting each member. Group members are encouraged to talk with each other spontaneously and honestly. Much of the learning comes from the interactions between members as they work to defeat negative thoughts, manage emotions, identify and change unhealthy beliefs, and develop healthy behaviors.
The Life at Your Best Group Therapy Plan serves as a microcosm of reality and is an ideal place to solve real issues. Week after week, you create your own impasses in the group, in virtually the same ways as outside the group, blocking friends, lovers, work associates, and more. Group therapy is a theater of study and change. When you speak in a group, words can echo more loudly in your mind. You can also see how other members respond to your behavior. You may use group as a main treatment, or work simultaneously in both group and individual therapy to stimulate growth in mutually complementary ways.
How the Life at Your Best Group Therapy Plan can help You:
