Abbe Horsburgh, LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor), brings a wide range of training and experience to her work with adults, couples and families.  After graduating from Teachers College, Columbia University in 2009 with a degree in Psychological Counseling, she trained for three years at The Ackerman Institute for the Family in New York, an organization at the forefront of the research and practice of couples and family therapy. In her work with couples, she addresses many of the problems that partners experience—emotional withdrawal, conflict, communication issues, unfaithfulness and violence—to name a few. She also works with parents, who need guidance in addressing their children’s issues. With individuals, she works to alleviate depression and anxiety by uncovering the roots of their painful self-doubt—and then helping them change their destructive or ineffective patterns of behavior. Whether it is with couples, individuals, or families, Abbe helps her clients find within themselves the answers to the problems that make them suffer and feel stuck.  She is goal-oriented and supportive.
